Every day, our centers and hospice and home care agencies receive thanks for the care they have provided to a patient or a family's loved one.  Many say they don't have the words to describe their appreciation and simply say, "Thanks."  Below is a letter from the daughter of a patient in appreciation of the care provided to her mother by Heartland of Bucyrus, Ohio.

Thank you so much for everything you did for mom and all of us during her stay there.

First of all for the excellent care she received.  Everyone was so kind and good to her.  There were some of you who went the extra mile for her, and please don't think for one minute that it went unnoticed.  She had her "special people," and I know you know who you are.  Thanks so much.  I went to bed every night knowing she was in good hands.

My compliments to the chef who always prepared such delicious meals.  I thought they were restaurant quality.  Her only complaint was that they gave her too much.

To all of you who went to bat for her with the Medicare problem.  For the days of grace you gave us to try to figure out what to do.  For walking us through every problem every step of the way.  You will never know how grateful we are.  For saying, "That's my job, that's what I do," when I knew it was much more than just a job to you.

And last but not least, thank you for calming me down.  There were days when the stress level was pretty high and I was about ready to flip out.  You calmed my nerves and helped me realize we would get through this.  For that I am eternally grateful.

The good news is mom is happily in her own home.  She is doing so well.  She gets around better than before she broke her foot.  There's no place like home, but Heartland was the next best thing to get her back on her feet.

They say angels walk among us.  I know that's true because I saw them; they work at Heartland.
