| Words of Appreciation |
Every day, our centers and hospice and home care agencies receive thanks for the care they have provided to patients or loved ones. Many say they don't have the words to describe their appreciation and simply say, "Thanks." Below is a letter from the daughter of a resident in appreciation for the care provided to her mother at Arden Courts of Yardley, Pennsylvania.
In memory of my mom, I wanted to take this opportunity to thank you all from the bottom of my heart. You helped make her last years so much more enjoyable than I could have imagined. You treated her with respect, kindness and a gentleness, of which she was so deserving.
You all made a difference in her life, whether you had contact with her on a daily basis or perhaps only occasionally. You went out of your way to say hello or stop and chat with her. You saw to her personal needs as well as her emotional needs. It is the little things that can make a world of difference, and you have made all the difference. My mom was always such a friendly, social person, so she was only too happy to have the chance to interact with people, and she loved the fact that everyone knew her name.
To the wonderful ladies in Plum, I send to you a special thank you. My mom looked to you for her everyday needs, and you were always there for her, and always with a smile – you brightened her days.
Mom loved to party, and the activities staff knew just how to bring out the best in her. Sometimes she was reluctant, but most times you were able to convince her to join in. Whoever thought Nancy would be able to encourage her to join the choir? Now that was monumental!
It takes someone special to do the work you do. You have that special quality, which is truly a gift. I consider each one of you a blessing in both my mom’s life and in mine. May God bless you all as you continue to do his work, and never forget that you do make a difference.
