Fishing for Memories

Ron used to go fishing as a small boy, and as an adult, he began to take his son along on those fishing adventures.  Unfortunately, within the last year Ron’s son passed away, leaving Ron without his fishing partner.  Ron told the assistant director of nursing at ManorCare Health Services – Rocky River about his love for fishing and the time he spent with his son.  The conversation was inspiration for a Heart’s Desire.

On June 15, the administrative director of nursing services took Ron for a fishing trip on Lake Erie, accompanied by the environmental director.  The group settled in on an easily accessible pier that extends out into the lake.  They enjoyed several hours of fishing and took a break for lunch at Bubba Baker’s Bar-B-Que, a nearby restaurant Ron wanted to try.  Although the group only caught one fish, Ron was thankful for the opportunity and the memories it brought back of going fishing with his son, something he always cherished.
