Every day, our centers and hospice and home care agencies receive thanks for the care they have provided to a patient or someone’s loved one. Many say they don't have the words to describe their appreciation and simply say "Thanks." Below is a letter from a former patient at ManorCare Health Services in New Providence, New Jersey in appreciation of the care provided to him.
My name is Craig, and this e-mail is to inform you of my experience at ManorCare Health Services-New Providence.
Recently, I underwent emergency foot surgery and chose ManorCare for my convalescence. My stay lasted eight weeks and gave me a chance to get to know many of the staff. As I told them on my last day, it was one of the best decisions I ever made. They met every challenge related to my complex condition with the highest degree of professionalism, compassion and dedication. And always with a reassuring smile.
There are four MCHS members I will never forget and you need to know about.
Shirley, Administrator: She was always available regardless of the hour for even the smallest questions. But her specialty was large, complicated problems which she addressed immediately.
Clarice, Head of Nursing: She seemed to be everywhere at all hours solving problems, answering questions and just making life a little easier for her patients with her calm but determined attention to detail.
Maria, Physical therapy: She shepherded me through all phases of my recovery making sure I was achieving the appropriate level of mobility as prescribed by my doctors. She's a wonder!
Nana, Nursing Supervisor: I heard a saying soon after my arrival that described her perfectly. "Nana can fix anything!" Not only is it true, it's the best kind of medicine you can hope to receive. In fact, she played a significant role in fixing me!
There are many other nurses and support staff who deserve recognition as well. Among them are Marjorie, Yvonne, Agatha, Abigail, Donna, Jay and Mr. Jean.
If this note inspires you to do something nice for these people, then I'm glad. In the meantime, I'm telling anyone who will listen, if you need to recover from a medical challenge, then seriously consider ManorCare.
